Disrupt Asia 2018, Sri Lanka’s Premier Start-up Conference and Innovation Festival, featuring several top international and local experts in entrepreneurship, policy, innovation and startups during the conference, was held from 3.30 pm to midnight on 11 August at Trace Expert City, Maradana.

The conference discussed the need for policy and strategy, while entrepreneurs sharing their successes and failures will provide inspiration to those hoping to take the plunge. Experts from the USA, Netherlands, UK, Singapore, Bangladesh, Philippines, India and Sri Lanka will share their knowledge on AI, digital marketing, and security, and set the stage for disruptive thinking around STEAM education, creative industries, and social entrepreneurship.

SparkHub was provided the opportunity to represent and nominate startups from Maldives to take part in Disrupt Asia 2018 and this year two (Onboard and Payer) startups took part along with the winner of the 2018 Startup Weekend - Maldives, Women Edition.

The startups from Maldives got an opportunity to network with the startups from the region as well as discuss about their products to the enablers and doers of startup community.

Mr. Ahmed Yaamin Mohamed, the Chief Marketing Officer of Sparkhub was given the opportunity to kick-start the Disrupt Asia 2018 by welcoming everyone to the event. He also moderated one of the most interesting startup battle, as part of the disrupt Asia Programme.
